A running header or footer is what makes a printed stack of pages traceable: which document is this, which version, who may read it. Set the text once and it lands on every page, at the top, the bottom, or both — and it never leaves your browser.
How it works
- 1
Upload the PDF
Drop in the document you want stamped.
- 2
Type the text
Fill the header, the footer, or both. Use {n} and {total} where you want the page number and page count.
- 3
Download
Every page comes back carrying the text, centred at the edge you chose.
Why use this tool
Automatic numbering
{n} and {total} are substituted per page, so "Page 3 of 12" is one field, not manual work.
Header, footer or both
Leave a field empty and that edge is left untouched.
Nothing is uploaded
The stamping runs in your browser, so a confidential draft stays on your device.
Text stays text
The line is drawn as real text, so it remains selectable and searchable in the result.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add page numbers?
Put {n} in the footer — for example "Page {n} of {total}". If numbering is all you need, the dedicated Page numbers tool is simpler.
Can I remove it afterwards?
No. The text is drawn into the page content, so keep your original if you may need a clean copy.
Can I number only some pages?
Not here — the text goes on every page. Split the document first if you need a section stamped differently.
What about non-Latin text?
The built-in font covers Latin characters. Armenian or Cyrillic headers may not render, so check the result before relying on it.
