Edit PDF documents

These tools change what is on the page, or the information the file carries about itself. Stamp a watermark across a draft so a copy cannot be passed off as final, add page numbers to a document assembled from several sources, crop away the scanner margins that waste half the paper when printed, or fix the title and author fields that show up in search results and library catalogues — and which are often still set to whatever template the file started life as. All four run entirely in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Can a watermark be removed again?

It is drawn into the page content, so it is not a setting you can switch off later. Keep your unwatermarked original — treat the watermarked file as a copy for distribution.

Does cropping actually delete the margins?

Cropping changes the visible page box, so the trimmed area no longer prints or displays. It is a reliable way to fix scanner borders, but not a way to redact content.

Why does the metadata matter?

The title stored inside the file is what many readers, search engines and document management systems display — often in preference to the filename. A leftover template title makes a professional document look careless.

Can I number only part of a document?

Yes. Choose the range you want numbered, which is the usual way to skip a cover page or leave front matter unnumbered.
